Yesterday was the second Mixed Media Accordion Sketchbook Workshop at the Oak Park Art League, and it was just as fun as the first one! Thanks to all who participated and helped them both sell out!! I will definitely be scheduling more workshops along these lines in the future. A few photos:
And speaking of the Oak Park Art League, the Spring 1 session of classes begins next week! Register for Tuesday or Saturday mixed media classes here. Saturday has a few spots left and I believe Tuesday is still pretty open, though there are enough people in it that it will definitely run.
I will likely not teach another five week session until after summer, but I will be scheduling some one day workshops later in spring and summer. I have a student mailing list and if you would like to be on it just send me an email and I will include you so you know when new workshops will be offered.
The 100 Day Project is on Day 23, so I am almost a quarter way through. This photo is from a few days ago so it’s missing a few days, but I’ve been keeping up with the daily palettes pretty well.
The overall appearance of my large sheet is on the messy side but that’s okay. I haven’t decided if I will be cutting it up and turning it into a reference book or leaving the large sheets whole and maybe more cleanly dividing the palettes with white or black outlines. My favorite palettes so far are the simplest one and the not-quite-Zorn palette, but each one is a little adventure and I am enjoying this process.
Lastly, I will have a painting in the 103rd Membership Show at the Carriage House Gallery in Oak Park for the next month. It is one of the Mazurek paintings I did last summer for Kate Durran’s Chopin concert.
Happy Spring!
