My work can be found at the Carriage House Gallery in Oak Park for the month of December, and I’ve got two new pieces in the show! They are mixed media pieces I started as class demos this fall, and liked them enough to keep going and build them into their own little worlds. This show is up until December 16.

“Winter Conservatory” – 12″ x 12″ – Mixed Media on Board
“In the Shadow of Your Smile” – 12″ x 12″ – Mixed Media on Board

I also have my paintings up at CrossFunction until the end of the year, so if you are in the neighborhood of the Oak Park train station, stop by Kribi Coffee and check out my artwork in the lobby of the Arcade Building.

In other news, one of my favorite artists and former student, Satish Prabhu, approached me about trying a collaborative project, just prior to Thanksgiving. We had this idea that if we began two canvases at a time, then swapped one out with each other, and finished the one we started and the one we selected that the other artist started, building our collection with different sizes every couple of months, that we might end up with a show! TBD …..

We started with parameters pretty wide open, and with each swap we’d let the idea evolve, and as parameters present themselves they will get incorporated. It’s only been about three weeks, so it’s early going, but we’ve got a working title and four 30″ x 24″ paintings on their way, and four 36″ x 48″ in the wings, and it is exciting to see where we might take this.

These are the first two I am working on – the one on the left he started as a window, and the one on the right I started as a bunch of layered patterns and colors. We are going with the title of Inside, Outside based on this beginning. I will definitely share more as things develop!
