Coming up on Friday, June 24, I will be participating as a Plein Air artist in the annual Uncorked event from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Oak Park Conservatory! Every few years I paint at one of the properties on the Garden Walk, and this year I will be doing this instead. As in previous years I am doing this as a representative of the Oak Park Art League.
I was at the Conservatory this afternoon to meet the event coordinators and to get a lay of the land. It is such a lovely community-centered place filled with rooms of gardens and birds. I had not visited the conservatory for quite a few years, but I remember the birds that talk to everyone. Today this one was the only one who wanted to say hello. His name is Skipper 🙂
Hopefully the weather is even a little bit like it was today – spectacular! – and if it is I will be painting outside. If it rains I will be painting inside one of the garden buildings. I’ll be working on an acrylic painting of the Living Wall if I’m outside, and if I am inside likely the Mediterranean Garden.
If you want to buy tickets for hors d’oeuvres, wine/beer/non-alcoholic beverages, live music and a tour of the gardens, go here.
