I currently have a piece in the Oak Park Art League’s 100th Anniversary Members Show, up until the first week of December, and this past week wrapped up the Fall 2 Session of Mixed Media classes! The week after Thanksgiving begins the Holiday Short Session (3 weeks instead of 5), and as usual my class will be on Tuesday afternoons from 4-6:00. Sign up here if interested in joining the last session of classes of the year : )
I’ll also have three paintings and five ornaments in the upcoming Holiday Art & Ornament Market starting the first week in December. Every year the art league has a great holiday show in which all work is priced under $300 and it is cash and carry. Perfect for gift giving! More on that next post ….
I will also have a Holiday Card & Ornament Workshop on Saturday, December 4, from 10-2:00. You can make any sort of cards and ornament that you want to – they do not have to be holiday themed. Sign up here!
Meanwhile, it is Thanksgiving week, and I’ve just finished making a batch of cranberry, orange & ginger jam, so I’m in a happy holiday mood.
A brief list of things I am thankful for this year, in no particular order:
- Time with family and friends felt more precious this year than ever. It was a big one of loss and celebration.
- Celebrating 20 years of marriage! We sure have gone through a LOT together.
- Tennis and the people I play with and learn from. Always great energy!
- A bountiful garden harvest that inspired me to take up canning. It is amazing how much better homemade jams, sauces, stewed tomatoes, and pickled vegetables taste than those you buy at the grocery store!
- A return to meditation and prayer.
- The trees and the lake in my neighborhood – daily sources of beauty and nature.
- Mango! Half teenager kitten, half Tasmanian devil.
- Artistic connection and inspiration from teaching classes with great students, and drawing the human body.
- My health and that of the people I love.
- And lastly, I am ever grateful for you who stop over here and check out my art work, enjoy it, buy it, and give me feedback via messages or in person.
Wishing you and yours a happy Thanksgiving and a peaceful, hopeful, joyful holiday season. XO
