It’s the Oak Park Art League’s 100th Anniversary this year, and part of the celebration is coming up next month, and I am delighted to have a painting that has been accepted into the National Juried Exhibition, “Beyond 100”! It will be on from September 1 – 30 in the Carriage House Gallery, and the public opening will be on Friday, September 10, 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Of course, pandemic related restrictions apply, which as of now include masks and social distancing, regardless of vaccination.

Beyond 100: A National Juried Exhibition

I haven’t submitted a lot of work to juried exhibitions since 2020, and it feels nice to be part of that process again. I always like to see the curated show a juror (or in this case, two jurors) puts together and hear them discuss their process of selection. Sergio Gomez and Gina Lee Robbins will undoubtedly have curated a vibrant, exciting show, so I am really looking forward to seeing it!

Here is my diptych that was accepted:

“Tidal” – 40″ x 30″ – Acrylic, Collage, Image Transfer, Ink and Oil Pastel on Canvas

Also, my classes start up again September 14, and you can sign up for Mixed Media (Tuesday afternoons from 4-6:00) here, and my annual Farmers Market Workshop (Saturday, September 18, 10:00-2:00) here. Class sizes will be limited due to mask mandates and social distancing. Hope to see you again soon!
